An Enduring History

Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc. was founded in 1943, and has been a family-owned and operated business from the beginning.

With the fourth generation of women leading the company, the Bossong family continues to move their business forward. We are always looking to adapt and we remain dedicated to the professionalism, customer service and fair pricing that Bossong’s loyal and long-standing customers have come to trust.

The Bossong family has been in business for over 80 years, growing and adapting along the way to ensure that we always meet the changing needs of our customers.

A Proud Family Lineage

Our founder, Fred J. Bossong, begins his own contract trucking operation, alongside his wife, Evelyn, delivering paint and supplies to various contractors throughout Central New York.

1943

Fred J. Bossong changes the name of his company, officially founding Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc. in January of 1943, as he expands the scope of his business.

Together, Fred, as President, and Evelyn, as Secretary, successfully manage the company while slowly growing the business into the mid 1960s.

1945

Edward (“Ed”) J. Bossong, son of founder Fred J. Bossong, joins the company after service in World War II and being Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army.

Evelyn Bossong becomes a pioneer for women in trucking, assuming ownership and service as President of Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc.  Evelyn remained active with the company in many roles until her retirement in 1984.

Frederick (“Fred”) J. Bossong (Ed’s son and the company founder’s namesake) joins the business, as a member of the third generation of Bossongs to work for the company.

Edward J. Bossong assumes the leadership of the company, serving as President until 2005, at which point he moved into an advisory role as our Chairman of the Board, until his full retirement in 2018.

Linda Rose, with her expertise in Human Resources and Account Services, joins our company as our Office Manager.

1991

Holly M. Bossong (Fred’s daughter) becomes the first member of the 4th generation of Bossongs to join the company.

1993

Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc. celebrates our 50th Anniversary.

1995

Fred Bossong becomes Co-owner and Vice-President of our company.

1997

Bossong’s business continues to grow, eventually requiring it to purchase and move to a more spacious terminal, its present day place of business.

1998

1998

Heather M. Bossong (now Heather M. Bobrek, Fred’s other daughter), joins the company.

2001

In a move to once again grow the company, Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc. purchases a competitor in Upstate New York, absorbing much of their business and their employees.

Thomas (“TJ”) Ranucci, after many years of service, is promoted to the role of Night Supervisor.

The role of President and complete ownership of our company changes hands and is now held by Frederick J. Bossong.

Experiencing a significant growth in business, Bossong’s constructs a 12,000 sq. ft. addition to its warehouse and adds 10 dock doors to our current facility.

To meet the needs of Bossong’s growing business, Joseph (“Joey”) Morini is appointed to a new leadership role, Terminal Manager. Joey brings his extensive knowledge and superior customer service skills to this new role.

Holly and Heather, the women of Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc., now guide the business and lead day-to-day operations.

Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc., alongside our tremendous employees, celebrates the business’s 75th Anniversary.

Bossong’s Commercial Delivery, Inc. proudly reaches its 80th anniversary due to the continued excellence of skilled team members.

In addition to our family of key personnel, the true backbone of Bossong’s is our dedicated and hardworking team of courteous drivers, dispatchers, and office personnel. Their combined efforts provide exceptional service to our customers as we cover 50,000 miles per month.
